Our vision

Our vision is to create a vibrant, supportive community where women with chronic illnesses can connect, uplift each other, and find joy and fulfillment beyond their diagnoses. We aspire to transform lives by cultivating resilience, sharing wisdom, and celebrating the strength of every member, building a world where living a "sick life" means living a life full of passion, purpose, and enduring friendships.

Founder

Hi!! I’m Brittany. You can also call me Britter.

Growing up, I was a fearless kid who always tried to keep up with my older brother. Being active was my thing, but even more than that, I loved connecting with others. I was always the one organizing games, bringing friends together, and making sure everyone felt included.

This love for connection carried over into my early adult life. In college, I thrived in school organizations, my sorority, and various sports teams. I found my passion in building communities, creating spaces where people could come together, share experiences, and support each other. Life was fulfilling and exciting, filled with meaningful relationships and activities.

Then, at 23, everything changed when I was diagnosed with Lyme disease. My once social and active lifestyle turned into a constant battle with chronic symptoms. I felt incredibly isolated, even though I knew there were many other young women going through the same thing. I tried joining multiple Facebook groups, but they were mostly filled with negativity and fear, which didn’t help at all.

After battling Lyme disease on my own for over seven years, I realized I needed to do something about it. I missed that sense of connection and community so much. So, I created SickChicks to bring women together and build positive connections and friendships both online and offline. I've done quite a bit of healing and my hope is to inspire those who are still struggling to see that there’s a whole life to live beyond their illness. Through SickChicks, I’m dedicated to creating a supportive, uplifting community where we can all thrive and help each other live our best lives.

xoxo,

Britter
